PROPERTY MAINTENANCE BOARD
Composition:
The Property Maintenance Board shall consist of one resident from each ward and one business owner within the City. The five (5) members shall be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council for staggered terms of three (3) years. The Property Maintenance Board meets as needed.
Powers and Duties:
The Board shall hear all cases relative to the enforcement of the Property Maintenance Code (Chapter 1327 in the Codified Ordinances) and by a concurring vote of the majority of its members may affirm, wholly or partly, or may modify the decision from the Code Enforcement Official. Failure to secure such concurring votes shall be deemed a confirmation of the decision of the Code Enforcement Official.
No member of the Board shall take part in any hearing or determination in which he or she has a personal or financial interest. Within 7 days of the hearing, the Property Maintenance Board shall render a decision sustaining, modifying, or withdrawing any item appearing on the notice and order. The petitioner shall be notified of the decision in writing.
