pLANNING & Zoning department

The Planning & Zoning Department falls under the supervision of the Public Service Department.

The Zoning Department is responsible for the review and development of private and public improvements, including subdivision plans.  Property re-zonings, minor lot splits, zoning code changes, performance and maintenance bonds and guarantees, and code enforcement are the responsibility of the Zoning Department. The Zoning Department through the Code Enforcement Official enforces the Property Maintenance Code (T.C.O. 1327).

The Planning & Zoning Department issues all residential, commercial, and industrial permits for signs, water, city sewer, street opening (including approach, culvert and ditch enclosure).  Permit forms include all fees.  Inspections for these permits are scheduled through the Zoning Deparment.

The Planning & Zoning Department annually (by January 31) registers contractors for General U and Sewer Installers working within the City of Tallmadge. Any contractor working in the City right-of-way must be registered in the City of Tallmadge.
