Chief Patrick J. Gaffney

Chief Gaffney was appointed Tallmadge Fire Chief on July 13, 2009. Chief Gaffney is an Akron native and a graduate of St. Vincent – St. Mary High School. Chief Gaffney graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Fire Science Technology.

During his 28 year career with the Tallmadge Fire Department, Chief Gaffney has attended the National Fire Academy, Ohio Fire Academy and The Ohio Fire Chiefs Leadership Program. He has been a Fire Inspector, Investigator and a Fire Instructor through the University of Akron.

Chief Gaffney is currently a member of and treasurer for the Executive Board for the Summit County Fire Chiefs’ Association.

Chief Gaffney currently resides in Tallmadge with his wife Patti and two children.
