Vehicle Maintenance Department

The Vehicle Maintenance Department for the City of Tallmadge is located at 210 Osceola Avenue. Our personnel consist of three full-time technicians with over 75 years combined automotive service, a Group Leader, who oversees daily operations, purchasing and assigning duties, and a part-time administrative clerk whose duties consist of preparing and monitoring purchase orders, logging vehicle history and daily fuel usage of vehicles and equipment.

It is the responsibility of the Vehicle Maintenance Department to ensure that a wide array of city vehicles and equipment are in safe and reliable working condition, helping Police, Fire, Street and Water Departments provide dependable services. These vehicles and equipment range from the police cruisers and fire engines that keep our community safe, to the snowplows that clear our roads in the winter, to the lawnmowers that maintain our City’s parks in the summer.

Moreover, the Department is responsible for equipping new Police vehicles from the ground up, which includes installing all wiring and safety equipment. The Department performs a variety of fabrications, from security gates to water confinement gates, and also purchases and distributes city unleaded and diesel fuel.

It is the Vehicle Maintenance Department that keeps our city’s engines running, helping Tallmadge to sustain a comfortable lifestyle.
