Director of Public Service

The Director of Public Service for the City of Tallmadge is Bryan Esler a Tallmadge resident of 26 years. He began his career with the City as an Equipment Operator in 1980. After taking courses and testing through the International Municipal Signal Association, he became the City’s first certified Traffic Sign and Signal Technician in 1995. Bryan was promoted to Assistant Road Superintendent in 1998 and to Road Superintendent in 2007 where he served until the end of 2011. At the request of Mayor Kline he began serving as the Director of Public Service in January of 2012.

As the Director of Public Service, Bryan has the responsibility for the management, control, and supervision of all public works, municipally owned utilities, and recreation. The Director of Public Service is appointed by the Mayor and has no term of office.

He and his department strive to provide the citizens of Tallmadge with first-class services in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner.

Bryan and his wife Cheryl are proud to call Tallmadge home. They have four grown children, Matthew, Kari, Tim and Michael.
