2011 LEAF SEASON HAS ENDED
Fall leaf collection dates will be posted in the Tallmadge Express
During the leaf collection season, the City of Tallmadge maintains 8 three men crews throughout the City. Each crew is assigned a leaf collector towed by a 2 ½ ton truck. The collectors amount to a giant canister vacuum on wheels. The Street Department will make every attempt to make collections for the entire City. Arterial or main roads will be collected first, followed by collector streets and finally residential streets.
Residents must have their leaves raked to the edge of the pavement in front of their house on Monday of their collection week by 7:00 am. Try to avoid placing leaves in the ditch. The leaves should be in a narrow row along the road to insure that the collector hose can reach all of the leaves as it moves along. Failure to properly place your leaf piles can slow the operation reducing our ability to collect leaves in a timely manner. The City does not guarantee pick up of leaves placed near the end of the season, as we may have to switch to snow control operations. So get your leaves out early!
Remember, no glass, cans, bottles, grass, stones, metal, wood, branches, paper, plastic, foreign objects, etc. – leaves only. Piles containing these foreign items will not be picked up.
