Fire Chief Dennis Crossen manages the Tallmadge Fire Department. The division of Fire & EMS provides complete emergency services to the citizens of Tallmadge, as well as fire prevention and education.
Emergency services include emergency medical treatment and transport, fire suppression, and all specialty rescue services, such as confined space, hazardous materials, high angle rope, underwater, and weather-related situations.
The Fire Department and EMS squads consist of 11 full-time and 43 part-time firefighters, paramedics, and auxiliary personnel located in two modern facilities. Fire Station 1 is located at 85 W. Overdale Drive and Fire Station 2 is located at 735 Eastwood Avenue. The safety forces offer a number of special educational programs throughout the year to assist residents, including Safety Town, school safety programs, and home and business safety inspections.
Hours Of Operation
- Emergencies: 24 hours a day 7 days a week
- Blood Pressure Checks: Daytime hours at either station, provided the personnel are not taking care of an emergency incident elsewhere in the city
