Architectural Review Board
The Architectural Review Board shall have the same powers and duties of the Design Control Board as provided for by ordinance.

Board of Zoning Appeals
The Board of Zoning Appeals shall hear and decide appeals made for exceptions to and variations from the application of ordinances, orders, and regulations of City administrative officials or agencies, governing planning and zoning in the City.

Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission shall, except as otherwise provided by ordinance, exercise the powers and duties of a Municipal Civil Service Commission as provided by general law.

Charter Review Commission 2021
The City operates under and is governed by its Charter, which was approved by voters in 1995, becoming effective January 1, 1996. The Charter Review Commission, consisting of eleven qualified voters of the City, scrutinizes the Charter every ten years to determine if revisions or amendments are necessary. The City’s Charter can only be amended by a majority vote of the City’s registered voters. The last charter review was in 2021.

Income Tax Board
The Board shall convene after any person who is dissatisfied with any ruling or decision of the Tax Administrator has filed the required documentation to make a written contested appeal to the Board of Review.

Moral Claims Commission
All claims against the City arising from injury or damage from alleged acts or omissions of the City shall be referred to the Director of Law.

Planning & Zoning Commission
The powers and duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission are as provided for as municipal planning commissions by general law except as otherwise provided by ordinance.

Recreation Center Governing Board
The duties of the Governing Board shall include: setting use rates for the Center, reviewing contracts, reviewing the Center’s financial condition, reviewing staffing requirements and scheduling use of the Center.
