My vehicle was towed, how do I retrieve it?
If your vehicle was impounded, you will need to come to the Tallmadge Police Department in person to sign a release for you vehicle. The signed release is required in order to retrieve your vehicle from the tow company holding the vehicle and cannot be released without it. Vehicles are released to the registered vehicle owner only.

As the vehicle owner, if your vehicle was towed due to driving under suspension (DUS), operating the vehicle while intoxicated (OVI), or Wrongful Entrustment, in certain cases your car cannot be released until at least your initial appearance in court answering to those charges.

The court may issue you a vehicle release document at that time that you must present in person at the police department, or, the court may order that your car be immobilized for up to 180 days, or forfeited, depending upon prior DUS or OVI offenses.
