Storm Water

Stormwater runoff occurs when rain or snowmelt flows over the ground. Impervious surfaces like driveways, sidewalks, and streets prevent stormwater runoff from naturally soaking into the ground.

Storm drains collect rain water and snow melt. Anything that enters a storm sewer is discharged untreated into bodies of water we use for swimming, fishing, and providing drinking water.  Only rain should go into storm drains - no trash, oil, pet waste, fertilizers or other pollutants.

REMEMBER: Only rain down the drain.

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT

The City provides the following services to facilitate storm water flow:

  • Catch basin repair

  • Ditch line maintenance (in the right of way)

  • Street sweeping to prevent infiltration

  • Replacement and installation of deteriorated residential driveway pipe.

Report storm water problems to the
Street Department @ 330-633-5130
